Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

INDIANAPOLIS- The second-ranked UIndy softball squad won its NCAA Division II-leading 29th and 30th straight contests Tuesday at Baumgartner Field, taking 2-1 and 10-3 wins over GLVC-foe Saint Joseph's.

#2 UIndy 2, Saint Joseph's 1
The visiting Pumas (22-12; 13-7 GLVC) got on the board first in game one, plating a single run on two hits in the top of the third inning.

UIndy (34-1; 20-0 GLVC) answered back in the fourth, with Casey Williamson sending a ball out to the flags. The solo shot by the Greyhound freshman was her fourth of the year, and tied the ballgame at 1-1.

The Greyhounds put up the game-winner in the bottom of the sixth, with Sydney Russell crossing the plate after beating out a single on the infield. Russell came into score on a double to left center by Williamson.

Both Russell and Williamson each had two hits in the UIndy victory. DeMotte (22-1) earned the victory, striking out a pair of Pumas and surrendering six hits to SJC.

#2 UIndy 10, Saint Joseph's 3
The Greyhounds opened game two with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning. Kelsey Rummel opened the game with a single up the middle, and stole second. A sacrifice bunt by Cori Eckerle moved Rummel to third, and she scored on a Williamson single down the leftfield line.
Sam Krcelich

Williamson came in to score on a DeMotte single to center, after she stole second as well.

UIndy plated three more runs in the third inning, pushing the score to 5-0. Russell opened the frame with a single up the middle, and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Eckerle. After an intentional walk to Williamson, a DeMotte single brought Russell home.

The Pumas plated a single run in the top of the fifth, but Samantha Krcelich answered back in the bottom of the inning with a no-doubt solo home run over the left center fence to put the score at 7-1 UIndy.

Saint Joseph's put up another pair in the top of the sixth, on four hits. UIndy plated three more runs in the bottom half of the inning, with Dakota Malayer, DeMotte and Williamson all scoring on a bases-clearing double to the leftcenter fence by Krcelich.

Krcelich's three hits and five RBIs led the Greyhound offense in game two, while Audrey Ernst (12-0) earned the win.

The Greyhounds continue an eight-game homestand Friday, hosting Kentucky Wesleyan in a GLVC doubleheader. First pitch from Baumgartner Field is slated for noon.
