Host UIndy put up a single run in the top of the first inning, with a Cori Eckerle double to the base of the centerfield fence plating Kelsey Rummel, who reached on a bunt single and stole second to open the game.

Alexa Alfaro represented the second UIndy run, reaching via a walk and scoring on a single through the leftside by Briana Clark.

DeMotte helped her own cause with a lead-off home run to open the UIndy fifth inning, pushing the score to 4-0 in favor of the home team. The shot was DeMotte's first of the year.

Rummel and Taylor Russel each had a pair of hits in the ballgame, with DeMotte adding two RBIs to the UIndy cause. The Greyhound junior, now the holder of the single-season wins record as a UIndy pitcher, improved to 23-1 in taking the victory, striking out eight in the three-hit shutout.

The Panthers picked up their two runs in the top of the fifth, on a pair of hits.
