EVANSVILLE, Ind. – No. 15 Southern Indiana collected seven blocked shots and several others were altered as it held No. 5 UIndy men's basketball to 33 percent shooting in a 69-55 win at the Physical Activities Center on Saturday.

The Greyhounds (12-2, 4-2 GLVC) were able to connect on just 5-of-24 three-pointers and attempted only six free throws, making them all. The Screaming Eagles (12-2, 5-1 GLVC) countered by making 21-of-27 free throws, in addition to 41 percent shooting from the floor (21-51).

"We didn't do the little things tonight," head coach Stan Gouard said. "We wanted to keep them out of the paint and off the glass and we didn't do either. On the other end, we settled too often for the three-pointer and didn't attack as much as I wanted us to."

Reece Cheatham led all players with 20 points, while USI had four in double digits with Orlando Rutledge collecting 19 points and eight rebounds. Aaron Nelson added 10 points, 10 rebounds and a pair of blocks.

Trailing by eight at halftime, 35-27, after shooting 33 percent (10-30) from the field, the Greyhounds allowed Southern Indiana to score the first seven points of the second half before Tyrae Robinson drove the lane for a lay-in with 15:28 to play, 42-29.

The Greyhounds scored five more after Robinson's drive as Leland Brown scored inside on a dish from Quinten Hunter and then Brown kicked out of the post to Cheatham for a triple with 13:53 left to get them back within eight, 42-34.

The Eagles had the answer with a 9-3 run to push their lead back to 14, 51-37, with 9:12 left after four points in a row from Wischmeier.

UIndy continued to make USI work and remained within eight, 57-49, on Cheatham's driving floater with 3:06 left. The Screaming Eagles found the answer as big man Keith DeWitt made only his third three-pointer of the season from the right wing allowing them to hang on for the win.

The Greyhounds wrap up this stretch of three games in five days when they head north to Saint Joseph's on Monday for a 6:30 p.m. ET tip against the Pumas.
