INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 15 UIndy women's basketball team (13-4, 6-3 GLVC) erased an 11-point second-half deficit versus Bellarmine (16-4, 6-3) Saturday night, but junior Therese Montano banked in a 25 footer as time expired to lift the visiting Knights to a 75-72 win.

In one of the more physical battles of the season, Bellarmine shattered a 39-39 tie with 11 unanswered points to build a double-digit lead with 10 minutes to go.

The Knights later led by nine with just 2:33 to go, but a 3-pointer from Kelly Walter sparked a fire that eventually incinerated the Bellarmine lead.

Walter drilled another triple with 18 ticks remaining to make it 72-70 BU.  After the ensuing Greyhound foul, the Knights missed both free throw attempts to give the Hounds a chance to tie or win.

With 8.2 seconds on the clock, Kristin Turner's penetration resulted in an easy bucket for the senoir guard which finally tied the game.  But with just 3.3 ticks left and the Greyhounds trying not to foul, Montano quickly drove three-quarters of the court and just beat the final horn with a heart-breaking three that banked home.

Turner was a warrior in the second half, as she shrugged off the Knights' physical defense to score 21 of her game-high 26 points in the final 20 minutes.  The Seymour, Ind., native, finished 8-of-16 from the field, including four 3-pointers.

Katy McIntosh amassed 13 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Hounds, while fellow-junior Dajana Jovanovic chipped in nine boards and two blocks in her first start since March of 2011.

The Greyhounds needed a "W" to keep pace with East-Division-leader Lewis, who picked up a key 71-69 victory over Southern Indiana earlier today.  UIndy hosts the first-place Flyers Thursday, Jan. 31.  Time tip from Nicoson Hall is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
