QUINCY, Ill.- A pair of second half goals by Rockhurst were too much for UIndy Men's Soccer to overcome, with the Greyhounds falling 0-2 to the Hawks in the final match of the 2013 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship Tournament at Quincy's Legends Stadium Sunday afternoon.
The teams fought through a scoreless first half, with four-seed Rockhurst (15-3-2) out-shooting the second-seeded Greyhounds (14-3-2) 7-2 in the first 45 minutes of the match.
After the halftime break, the Hawks scored just 1:17 into the second period, with Jon Schreiber notching his fourth goal of the season on an assist from Mark Magee. Schreiber headed the ball home on service from the left from Magee.
Rockhurst would push the score to 2-0 in the 53rd minute, with Magee converting on a penalty kick and take the eventual win.
The Greyhounds finished the match with six total shots, three on goal.
Andrew Verhonik made three saves in net for UIndy.
