ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Hailey Brown's 16 kills led the Greyhounds in a first-round sweep over Missouri S&T in the GLVC Tournament (25-11, 25-18, 25-19) at Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill. The Miners swept the Hounds in the opening GLVC match of the season Sep. 21, but couldn't keep up Friday as UIndy won its eighth straight match.

UIndy (22-9, 15-3 GLVC) sprinted out of the gate, taking an early hold on the first set and never relinquishing the lead. The Crimson and Grey hit a blistering .478, totaling 15 kills. Brown set the tone of her performance, recording six kills on eight attempts in the opening frame.

Despite hitting -.038 and surrendering a sizeable first-set defeat, the Miners (15-17, 10-8) came out in the second set and pressured the Hounds. The game featured six ties and three lead changes, but UIndy's offense overwhelmed Missouri S&T. The Hounds topped their first set percentage with a .486 second set. Brittany Anglemyer finished with five kills on eight swings in the frame.

Up 2-0, the Hounds closed out the match with a 25-19 victory in the third set. Despite hitting .222 in the final set, UIndy managed a .380 percentage for the match, its second-highest total for the season.

Brown's .481 attack percentage is a season high, and is her most efficient career hitting in games where she recorded at least 10 kills. Kenzie Bruggeman finished with 11 kills, and Anglemyer totaled eight. Arielle Knafel led UIndy with 10 digs, while Bruggeman and Kimberly Trojan had nine each. Meghan Binkerd tallied 38 assists.

UIndy faces the winner of Rockhurst and Bellarmine in the GLVC Tournament semifinal Saturday at 5:00 p.m. (CT).
