BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- A pair of Greyhounds added to the rich history of the UIndy wrestling program Saturday, with
Alex Johns and
Cameryn Brady becoming the 34th and 35th All-Americans in program history.
Johns finished his year at 30-5, with a fifth place finish in the 125 bracket. The redshirt junior went 2-1 on day two, winning 8-4 in his first match of the day before falling to Davis of Simon Fraser in the consolation semifinals. He then defeated Ouachita Baptist's Garrett Evans in the fifth place match 6-3 to become an All-American for the first time in his UIndy career.
Brady closed out his first season in a Greyhound singlet with a seventh-place finish and a record of 20-5. The junior went 1-1 on day two, losing his first match of the day 6-4 to Ryan Maus. He then defeated an old foe in Maryville's Keenan Hagerty 7-5 to take seventh place.
As a team, UIndy finished 19th with 18 total team points. Nebraska-Kearney won the team title with 108.0 total points.
