COLUMBUS, Ind. - The UIndy men's golf team locked up an automatic bid to the upcoming NCAA Regional with a 4-1 win versus Lewis in Tuesday's match-play final of the 2013 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship, held at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ind. Already the record holder for most GLVC men's golf titles, the Greyhounds have now won 14 GLVC crowns, good for the second-most won by any school in any GLVC sport.*

After shooting even-par to win his semifinal match-up Tuesday morning, senior
Jon Jozefowski equaled that total with a 72 in the finals to give the Hounds a 1-0 edge. The Flyers picked up a point in the No. 4 spot, but No. 3-golfer
Max Bowling fired a one-under 71 to make it 2-1 Hounds. Senior
Tobin Dunigan (73) and junior
David Frank (75) followed by winning their match-ups by two and four strokes, respectively, to seal the win.
UIndy advanced to Tuesday's match play after finishing in the top four of the 54-hole stroke play portion of the event, held Sunday and Monday. The Greyhounds then excelled in match play, defeating Bellarmine, 4-1, in the morning's semifinal round before besting Lewis in the final. Jozefowski, Bowling, Dunigan and
Seve Duncan all recorded semifinal wins versus Bellarmine.
By securing the GLVC's automatic qualifier, there will be no drama for the Greyhounds when the NCAA regional field is announced Friday, Apr. 26; UIndy is guaranteed to be one of 20 teams competing at the NCAA DII Midwest/Central Super Regional, held at The Club at Strawberry Creek in Kenosha, Wis., May 6-8.
