Women's basketball climbs two spots in the top 25 poll

LILBURN, Ga. – The UIndy women's basketball team is tied for 14th in the latest USA TODAY Sports Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll released by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

Riding a nine-game winning streak, the Greyhounds are 13-2 (4-0 GLVC) and move up two spots from last week's ranking.

The Hounds won home contests against Rockhurst and William Jewell by double figures over the last week.

UIndy's offense ranks first in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and sixth in the nation shooting 48.6 percent from the floor – a mark that is on pace to break the program record for field goal percentage (47.6, 1987-88).

The Greyhounds also rank in the top 15 in free throw (10th, 77.2) and three-point field goal (15th, 37.9) percent.

Defensively, the Hounds lead the conference and rank 12th in the country with five blocks per game.

UIndy is joined by GLVC members Drury (10th), Quincy (18th) and Lewis (25th) in the top 25. The University of Southern Indiana and Missouri – St. Louis also received votes.

The Greyhounds are on the road this week to face GLVC-East opponents Bellarmine (6-6, 2-2 GLVC) and Southern Indiana (9-3, 3-1).
