UIndy first in GLVC All-Sports standings after fall slate

INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy sits atop the Great Lakes Valley Conference All-Sport Trophy standings after the fall season, poised to defend its 2013-14 title and secure the program's fourth consecutive trophy and eighth overall.

The GLVC All-Sports Trophy is awarded to the institution that demonstrates the best all-around performance in the conference's 20 sponsored sports, and the Hounds currently lead all others with 61.5 points through the fall slate.

UIndy men's soccer captured 16 points alone with their remarkable GLVC Championship run, and Greyhound volleyball added another 13 points for the second-best conference record (15-3) of non-finalists.

The Greyhounds also garnered 20 points in cross country after finishing fourth in the women's race (11 points) and fifth in the men's event (9), as well as 5.5 additional points in women's soccer.

After capturing the program's first-ever Commissioner's Cup last season, the Greyhounds currently sit third with 34.5 points behind Rockhurst (38 points) and Missouri S&T (36). The Cup is based on an athletic department's finish in the GLVC standings and conference tournaments in the league's seven core sports, including men's soccer, women's soccer, volleyball, men's basketball, women's basketball, softball, and baseball.
