Men’s basketball jumps to 12th in coaches poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 7-0 UIndy men's basketball team climbed four spots to No. 12 in this week's NABC/Division II Top 25 Poll.  The Greyhounds made the jump after downing in-state Saint Joseph's, 99-64, in both teams' Great Lakes Valley Conference opener last Saturday.

The Hounds join Bellarmine and Drury as GLVC teams in the poll.  Bellarmine, who is 6-0 on the season, crept up one spot to No. 2, receiving two of 16 first-places votes.  Drury (6-1) also moved up a slot to settle at 13th.

GLVC East-members Lewis, Southern Indiana and Wisconsin-Parkside are all outside of the top 25 but are receiving votes.

The Greyhounds are on a collision course with No. 9 Barry University, as the two ranked foes will face off in the marquee game of the upcoming Cruzin' Classic in Miami Shores, Fla.  UIndy will battle the host Buccaneers Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m., followed by a neutral-court showdown with Daemen College (N.Y.) Thursday, Dec. 18 at 8 p.m.
