INDIANAPOLIS- The UIndy men's soccer team added a special new signee Wednesday evening, with
Braden Tamosaitis joining the team through a partnership with TeamIMPACT.
Braden, an 8-year-old Camby, Ind. native, will participate in as many team activities as he is able. TeamIMPACT is a New England-based organization that seeks to pair children with life-threatening diseases and injuries with university and college sport teams as a social aspect to their lives.
"We have always put community service as a priority in our program, but signing Braden to the team and working with TeamIMPACT really gives us a chance to make a long-term difference," UIndy Head Coach John Higgins said. "We are honored to have Braden join our squad and I know our student-athletes will get as much out of this partnership as he does."
In addition to Higgins welcoming Braden to the Greyhounds, UIndy Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Sue Willey was also on hand, along with NCAA Division II Associate Director Josh Looney and Great Lakes Valley Conference Commissioner Jim Naumovich.
Following the signing, Braden took questions from his new teammates, and was able to get to know them further. His family was also present for the event in UIndy's Ruth Lilly Fitness Center.
