Women's Soccer signs Rory Halbert

INDIANAPOLIS- The UIndy Women's Soccer team officially welcomed Rory Halbert Friday, with the newest Greyhound signing her official letter of intent at a press conference in the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center.

Rory, a nine-year-old from Indianapolis, joined the Greyhounds through TeamIMPACT. She joins Braden on the men's soccer team and Owen on the baseball team in making commitments to UIndy through TeamIMPACT.

"We are so grateful for our relationship with TeamIMPACT," Jackie Paquette, Senior Woman Administrator said. "Rory and her enthusiasm and great sense of humor will make a great addition to the UIndy women's soccer team and the UIndy Athletics family."

Rory signed her letter of intent in a press conference featuring her new Greyhound teammates, as well as members of the UIndy Athletics Administration. After words of welcome from Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Sue Willey and her new teammate Jessica Bentley, Rory officially put pen to paper and signed with the Greyhounds. She will wear number 9 and will be present for as many team activities as she is able, starting with a trip to Nicoson Hall for Saturday's UIndy basketball doubleheader.

TeamIMPACT is a New England-based organization that seeks to pair children with life-threatening diseases and injuries with university and college sport teams as a social aspect to their lives.
