KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The men's tennis team began their quest for a Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Tennis Tournament championship Friday afternoon, competing against the West Division's four-seed Quincy University. UIndy, the East Division's top seed, came out on top with a 5-0 win over the Hawks to move onto the semifinals of the tournament.
In doubles play number one singles freshmen
Christoph Drechsler, 2015 GLVC Freshman of the Year, and junior
Tony Kostadinov topped seniors Ian Hinkamper and Ethan Arns after a 9-7 battle. The UIndy duo also earned 2015 All-GLVC Men's Tennis Postseason awards the previous night. Freshmen/sophomore duo
Andrea Morlet and
Marco Razo defeated junior Patrick Kuhle and freshman Ryan McMillan 8-2. UIndy juniors
Luke Hubert and
Fausto Cordova beat freshman Michael Lesko and freshman Wyatt Pauley 8-1.

With a 3-0 lead of Quincy the Greyhounds only need two more match success to move on to the semifinals. Cordova and Razo were the first in the singles competition to win their match, which led to a Greyhound victory over the Hawks. Cordova topped Pauley in two sets, 6-0 and 6-1. Razo came through with a 6-0, 6-1 success over Quincy's junior Chris Bueler.

The Greyhounds will move on to the GLVC Championship semifinals Saturday at 1:00 p.m. EST, versus the West Division's two-seed, Missouri-St. Louis.
