UIndy claims fourth consecutive GLVC All-Sports Trophy

INDIANAPOLIS – For the first time in over 20 years the Great Lakes Valley Conference has a four-peat champion of the traveling All-Sports Trophy. The University of Indianapolis totaled 194.5 points to capture the coveted title for the fourth consecutive year, and program's seventh overall.

The GLVC All-Sports Trophy is presented to the institution that demonstrates the best all-around performance in the league's 20 sponsored sports. Points are allocated based on overall finish in the league standings and finish in the respective sport's conference tournament.

UIndy won five league titles over the course of the year, including men's soccer, football, women's tennis, women's golf and women's outdoor track and field. The Greyhounds also posted runner-up finishes in women's indoor track and field, men's tennis and softball, and garnered third-place points in the sports of men's golf, baseball, men's indoor track and field and men's and women's swimming and diving.

The Crimson and Grey topped second-place Lewis for the second straight season, scoring 194.5 points to the Flyers' 174.0.

Besides earning the trophy the last four years, the Greyhounds also won in 1978-79, 1994-95 and 2002-03.

The title marks the first four-peat champion since Lewis won seven in a row from 1983 to 1990.
