LAST TIME OUT
UIndy opened up the 2016 calendar year this past weekend with a pair of games inside Nicoson Hall as GLVC play resumed. Thursday night, the Greyhounds erased a 14-point second quarter deficit to pull within three points of Maryville at the half. The Hounds would claim the lead in the second half before succumbing to a late Maryville run in an 82-75 defeat. Sarah Costello recorded her first career double-double, matching her career best with 19 points and grabbing a new personal best 13 rebounds. Nicole Anderson also recorded her third straight double-double with a 13-point, 16-rebound effort.

The Greyhounds wrapped up their weekend on Saturday against Missouri-St. Louis and came away with their first conference win of the year, a 64-55 triumph over the Tritons. UIndy led by as many as 12 in the second half and was able to hold off a third quarter rally from their guests to pick up the win. Princess German scored 14 of her team-leading 18 points in the second half while Costello added 17 and Devin Ferguson set a new career-high with 13 points for the Hounds.

ABOUT THE PANTHERS
Drury enters Thursday night's game 10-3 on the year and are coming off a pair of road defeats at the hands of No. 9 Lewis and Wisconsin-Parkside last weekend. After starting off the year with wins in their first nine games, the Panthers have dropped three of their last four contests.

Offensively, the Panthers are averaging 73.5 points per game on 45.5 percent shooting, the latter being good for third in the GLVC and 19th nationally. Annie Armstrong leads the team in scoring, averaging 14.5 points per game on 44.5 percent shooting. Armstrong ranks as one of the top long distance threats in the GLVC, shooting 48.4 percent (31-for-64) from deep, good for second in the conference and sixth in the nation.

Alice Heinzler has teamed with Armstrong to give the Panthers a lethal long range scoring tandem, averaging 13.1 points per game. Heinzler is currently knocking down 48.6 percent (34-for-70) of her triples, which is tops in the GLVC and fifth nationally. She also leads the conference in steals with 23 on the year.

Drury has 10 players that average at least 11 minutes per game. Under head coach Molly Miller, the Panthers rank sixth nationally in three-point field goal percentage (39.8%).

GREYHOUNDS AND PANTHERS ALL-TIME
Drury holds a slim 7-5 advantage in the all-time series between the two teams. After dropping the first five head-to-head matchups, the Greyhounds rattled off the next five wins between the two schools. The two teams met twice last year with Drury winning both games, the final showdown coming in the GLVC quarterfinals in which the top-seeded Panthers held off the No. 11 seed Hounds for an 80-65 win.

ABOUT THE MINERS
Missouri S&T enters the week with a 5-7 mark on the season and will be looking to snap a three-game slide against Saint Joseph's on Thursday before hosting UIndy on Saturday.

This weekend's games will be the first at home for the Miners in 2016, a place where Missouri S&T is currently 4-3 on the year. Missouri S&T is coming off a pair of GLVC losses last weekend, the first coming on Thursday night at the hands of Wisconsin-Parkside, 62-53. Two days later, No. 9 Lewis handed the Miners a 70-58 defeat in
Romeoville, Ill.

Sophomore forward Bria Pierce is the only member of the team to average double figures heading into this week's action, checking in with 11.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting 43.2 percent from the field. Pierce has been one of the best in the GLVC at getting to the free throw line, having shot 70 free throws this year, fifth in the conference. Her three offensive rebounds per game puts her at seventh in the league.

Jamy Douvier sits just outside of double figures with 9.5 points per game, knocking down half of her field goals (46-for-92) this season. Douvier leads the team in rebounds with 6.8 per game, 10th in the GLVC. Her five defensive boards per game slot her in seventh place in the league.

As a team, the Miners sit at the bottom of the GLVC in threes made, attempted and three-point field goal percentage, shooting 41-for-149 on the year, good on just 27.5 percent of their long range attempts.

GREYHOUNDS AND MINERS ALL-TIME
The Greyhounds hold a 7-3 lead in the all-time series and have taken the last three meetings between the two sides. The last time the two teams squared off was back on Jan. 4, 2015 inside Nicoson Hall. Led by Princess German's 18 points, 15 points from Kelly Walter and 13 from Carly Lythjohan, the Hounds were able to come away with a 69-57 win.

GERMAN PACES THE LEAGUE
UIndy senior guard Princess German has not only been the most prolific scorer for the Greyhounds this year, but she sits at the top of the GLVC in four different categories. The Gary, Ind.-native leads the conference in points per game (21.5), field goals attempted (232), minutes played (534) and minutes per game (38.14).

Additionally, German ranks second in the conference in field goals made (104) and threes attempted (107) and third in free throws made (61) and free throws attempted (85).

Earlier this year, German became the 22nd member of the UIndy 1,000-point clubs and currently sits in 17th place all-time on the Greyhound scoring list with 1,104 points.  She also matched her career best when she scored 31 points against Ohio Dominican back on Dec. 19, her second career 30-point game.

LONG DISTANCE CALLING
The Greyhounds enter play this week riding one of the longest streaks in the country, having knocked down at least one three-pointer in the last 271 contests dating back to Jan. 11, 2007. That streak is currently the second longest in the GLVC, just behind Quincy's current streak of 278+ games

PROTECTING THE PAINT
The UIndy interior defense ranks as one of the best in the GLVC, having swatted 53 shots on the year, third most in the GLVC and 67th nationally. Sophomore Ashley Montanez has the third most blocks in the conference with 19 while Nicole Anderson's 13 rejections are the 11th most in the league.
