INDIANAPOLIS – The Greyhounds earned two conference honors Wednesday, when juniors
Eli Stidd and
Vincent Ziraldo were respectively named Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week.
It was the first weekly honor for each and the fourth in 2016 for the UIndy track and field program. Stidd and Ziraldo join sophomore
Kieran Casey and senior
Josh Bass as GLVC Indoor Athletes of the Week for the spring season.
Stidd, a Bloomington native, finished with an NCAA provision qualifying time of 8.23 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles at this weekend's Buckeye Tune-up. The mark was also good for the third-best recorded by a conference hurdler this season.
Ziraldo now ranks as the top weight thrower in the GLVC following a 17.95 meter toss at the DePauw Indoor Classic. The Visalia, California product reached an NCAA provisional mark with the throw, and also moved into 23rd nationally.
Next up for the Greyhounds is a trip to Kenosha, Wisconsin for the GLVC Indoor Championships on Saturday.
