Women's soccer announces 2016 recruiting class

INDIANAPOLIS – Head coach Holly Cox and the University of Indianapolis women's soccer team have announced the addition of seven new Greyhounds that makes up their 2016 recruiting class.

Set to arrive this fall as Cox's first recruiting class as UIndy head coach are Alyse Dutcher, Hannah Caruso, Jordan Schoen, Alyssa Baker, Carah Kreimer, Aracely Turcois and Amanda Meyer. The group will look to help the Greyhounds improve on last year's 5-8-4 record.

"Both myself and our staff are very excited about this class that will be joining us this fall," Cox said. "These ladies will be great teammates, soccer players and students getting the job done both on and off the field. The personality and versatility of each of these ladies will continue to further the development of our soccer program here at UIndy. We can't wait to get them here and get started."

A native of Downers Grove, Ill., Dutcher will join the Greyhounds following the completion of her senior season at Downers Grove North this spring where she has already earned three varsity letters as a member of the Trojans. A defensive stalwart in the midfield and on the back line, Dutcher was named a First Team West Suburban Silver All-Conference, Illinois High School Coaches Association Second Team All-Sectional and Suburban Life All-Area Honorable Mention in 2015.

Following her junior year, she was named the 17th-ranked player in the Midwest region by Top Drawer Soccer after helping the Trojans' defense post 13 shutouts and not allow more than two goals in a game all year.

The daughter of Jennifer and Norbert Dutcher, Alyse plans on majoring in chemistry at UIndy.

Caruso was also brought in to help stabilize the Greyhound defense next year. The Oswego, Ill.-native has seen time at center back, outside back, center forward and center mid during her time at Oswego High School, where she has earned one varsity letter.

The daughter of April and Michael Caruso, Hannah plans on majoring in exercise science.

Cox added another member from the Oswego girls' soccer team in Jordan Schoen, who will join fellow Panther Caruso in Indianapolis this fall. Through her first three years with the Panther program, Schoen has recorded a total of 32 goals and 12 assists, earning a pair of varsity letters from the forward and midfield spots.

Schoen was named an all-conference selection following her junior year in 2015, a year in which the Panthers went 14-7-3 overall.

A four-year member of the National Honor Society, Jordan is the daughter of Ken and Demitra Schoen and will major in biology at UIndy.

Hailing from nearby Nobelsville, Ind., Baker will join the Greyhounds after earning three varsity letters on the back line at Fishers High School. During her time on the varsity roster, the Tigers went a combined 47-8-11 with the high points being a state championship back in 2014 and a runner-up finish in 2013.

Following her senior year, Baker was named ICGSA First Team All-State, ISCA Second Team All-State, first team all-district and Max Preps Fishers High School Player of the Year.

Alyssa is the daughter of Robert and Jennifer Baker and plans on majoring in education when she arrives on campus in the fall.

Another versatile player that saw time at both the midfield and on the back end, Kreimer will join the Hounds after picking up three straight varsity letters to close out her career at Harrison High School in Harrison, Ohio.

After accumulating three goals and three assists through her sophomore and junior seasons while playing defense, Kreimer moved to the midfield for her senior year and responded by banging in eight goals and adding six assists to help the Wildcats earn their second straight conference championship.

A three-year captain and two-time first team all-conference selection, Carah's teams combined to go 45-10 during her three years on the varsity roster.

Carah is the daughter of Tina and Joe Kreimer and plans on majoring in marketing at UIndy.

The lone goalkeeper in this year's recruiting class, Turcois joins the program following the completion of her high school career at the Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, Tenn. During her time with the Wildcats, Turcois was a three-time all-district selection, a two-time all-state nominee and garnered all-region honors her senior year after leading the Wildcats to their third straight region title and a runner-up finish at the state tournament.

Aracely is the daughter of Adin and Yessenia Turcois and plans on majoring in exercise science while she continues her playing career.

The final member of this year's recruiting class, Meyer comes to Indianapolis via Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she was a three-year member of the Highlanders' varsity soccer squad. After accumulating three goals and a pair of assists during her sophomore and junior years, Meyer exploded as a senior for 12 goals and one helper, leading the Highlanders to an 11-3-4 record and a conference championship.

Following her senior year, Meyer was named First Team All-Greater Miami Conference. Over her three-year stint with the Highlanders, the team went 41-8-7 overall, which included an 18-2 record in 2014.

The daughter of Bruce and Emile Meyer, Amanda plans to study psychology while playing soccer for the Greyhounds.
