INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy men's basketball star Jordan Loyd has been named to the All-GLVC First Team and Defensive Team, the league office announced Wednesday.

The senior guard, was one of five unanimous decisions named to the conference's first team, and one of only three placed on both the first and defensive team.

Loyd's named is littered among the GLVC leaders in several statistical categories, including scoring (second), steals (third), free throw percentage (seventh), 3-pointers per game (eighth), field goal percentage (ninth) and rebounding (13th).

Offensively, Loyd averages 20.3 points per game while shooting an even 50 percent (171-342) from the floor, including a solid 41 percent (56-136) from 3-point range. He ranks in the top five in the league in free throws made, knocking down 131 of 155 attempts (.845). He also adds 2.6 assists per game, second-most on the team.

Loyd, an Atlanta native, also becomes the fifth Greyhound to be named to the All-GLVC Defensive Team since it began four years ago. He leads UIndy with 49 steals this season, averaging 1.9 per game.

Loyd and the rest of the Greyhounds begin the GLVC Tournament this Friday in St. Charles, Mo., against Lewis University. The Flyers are led by All-GLVC recipients Max Strus (first team) and Kyle Nelson (second). Tip-off from Family Arena is set for 3:30 p.m. ET.
