Volikova and Kislitskaya earn National title

DAY FOUR
 
After yesterday's win over the junior college champions, Kislitskaya and Volikova competed against the Division III National champions from Wesleyan University, Chong and Yu.
 
The Hounds ended up falling 6-4, 6-2 to Chong and Yu. The win would have sent them to the ITA Fall Nationals. The Greyhound doubles pair finish the fall with a record of 14-1. 

DAY THREE
 
The freshman-senior duo came together to earn each of their first National titles. The two took on New York Institute of Technology Dimmer and Rossetti, pulling through with a two-set victory of 6-2, 6-0.
 
With the doubles win in Division II the women moved on to play the JUCO National Champions from Tyler Junior College. Kislitskaya and Volikova defeated Kalani Soli and Tamara Arnold 1-6, 7-6(4), 7-5. The win moves them to face the Division III Champion Eudive Chong and Victoria Yu of Wesleyan Univeristy (KY).
 
Earlier in the day, Volikova competed in the finals for the second year in a row. She earned herself a second runner-up finish after falling to Sonja Larsen of Barry. Hoffaker took the 5th place finish. He defeated his opponent 6-2, 6-0. 


DAY TWO

UIndy's three players each notched a win on day two of the ITA Oracle Cup. Volikova and Kislitskaya's win sends them to the finals in the double bracket, and Volikova's solo win in singles send her to the championship match as well. Despite yesterday's loss, Hoffacker earned himself a win to fight for the 5th place finish.
 
In singles, Volikova defeated Lopez 7-6, 6-4. Tomorrow morning, she will face Sonja Larsen of Barry at 8:30 a.m. and look for a her first National title after being named the runner-up last year. As for doubles, the senior-freshman duo took their doubles match 4-6, 6-4, 10-6. The two will fight for the championship spot tomorrow at 1 p.m. against New York Institute of Technology Dimmer and Rossetti.
 
Hoffacker overcame Matej Selecky of NYIT 6-1, 3-0, and will face UT-Permian Basin's Raul Stevens.  The match will 5th place match is set for 10:30 a.m.

DAY ONE
 
Three UIndy tennis players made the trip to Rome, Ga. to represent the Midwest at the ITA Oracle Cup. Senior Nils Hoffacker represented the men in his first trip to the Oracle Cup. Also, making her first appearance was freshman Alina Kislitskaya, who paired up with senior Hanna Volikova to take on the women's double bracket. Volikova is also competing in the singles competition for the second year in a row.
 
Volikova opened play against Anastasiia Kuprina of Concordia-Irvine. The Hound pulled through with a 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-1 win to advance to the semifinals. She will face off against Beatrize Lopez of Columbus State tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m.
 
Later in the day, Volikova and Kislitskaya went toe-to-toe with Academy of Art's twins Alma and Klara Thell-Lenntorp.  UIndy took the first set 7-6(4) and lost the second set 3-6, but pulled through with a 10-6 win in the third. The pair will move on to the semifinals tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. against Jan Abaza and Diana Bogolii of Lynn.
 
On the men's side of things, Hoffacker competed against Oliver Frank from Azusa Pacific, but ended up falling 6-2, 6-3. He will compete Friday at 9 a.m., and can take the 5th place finish if he wins his next two matches.
