INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy men's basketball finds itself in another preseason top-20 poll, as Basketball Times released its rankings on Friday afternoon. The Greyhounds, after being named the preseason No. 19 team by the DII bulletin earlier this month, is ranked No. 15 in the Basketball Times NCAA Division II poll.
Â
UIndy finished 16-12 a season ago, ending a six-year run to the NCAA tournament and five straight seasons of 20 or more wins. The Greyhounds earned the five seed in the GLVC Championship Tournament and advanced to the second round before falling to Wisconsin-Parkside.
Â
The Hounds return nearly the entire roster from the 2016-17 season, including GLVC second-team members
Eric Davidson,
Jesse Kempson, and
Jimmy King.
Tate Hall earned the conference's freshman of the year award, while
Ajay Lawton was a member of the all-defensive team.
Â
Of the 17 members on the team heading into this season, seven are seniors, five are juniors, and three are sophomores. There are two rookies on the Greyhound roster for 10th-year head coach
Stan Gouard, who also has his entire coaching staff returning.
Â
UIndy heads to Bloomington, Ind. on Sunday, November 5 to face Division I Indiana University in an exhibition game. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.
