On Tap: The 23rd-ranked University of Indianapolis women's basketball team hopes to extend its six-game winning streak as it plays host to a pair of GLVC West foes this week. The Greyhounds, who Tuesday earned their first USA Today/ESPN Division II Top 25 ranking since 2005, face Missouri-St. Louis Thursday night before a Saturday afternoon contest versus Rockhurst.

Poll Position: With the latest USA Today/ESPN Division II Top 25 women's basketball poll released this week, the 14-2 Greyhounds find themselves among the nation's ranked for the first time in four years. UIndy was one of four schools to crack the top 25 this week, breaking in at No. 23. Though it spent many weeks receiving votes last season, Indianapolis appeared in the top 25 for the first time since it earned a 23rd ranking Jan. 12, 2005. The Greyhounds' highest ranking in the poll (since 1996-97) was seventh on Mar. 12, 2003.

About Missouri-St. Louis: Though they did pick up their first conference win last week, the UMSL Tritons have won just four of their 13 games this season. Sunday's 86-61 win against Saint Joseph's brought their GLVC mark to 1-3  to create a three-way tie for fourth in the GLVC West Division.

Like UIndy, the Tritons' roster sports two players with double-digit scoring averages. Junior Kristi White tops the squad in scoring (10.5 ppg) and assists (4.2 apg) while sophomore Kelly Mitchell pulls downs a team-high 5.0 rebounds per game and averages 10.1 ppg. Both are long-range threats as they are second and first on the team, respectively, in three-pointers taken.

Hounds vs. Tritons: Winners of 11 of the last 13 head-to-head meetings, UIndy owns a 13-8 lead in the all-time series. The Hounds cruised to a 23-point win in last year's lone meeting. Both Jessica Canary and Samantha Meissel scored 18 points in the 79-56 victory at Nicoson Hall.

About Rockhurst: The Hawks enter play this week with an even 7-7 record. RU had won five straight before Sunday's 70-56 home loss to Wisconsin-Parkside.

Senior Amy Hake's 15.5 points per game is good for eighth in the conference while fellow senior Julie Cook (14.4 ppg) sits in tenth. Drake is also second in the GLVC in 3-point shooting (.518) and Cook tops all league players with 5.1 assists per contest.

Hounds vs. Hawks: Saturday's opponents have a brief history of competition as UIndy has taken two of just three all-time meetings. With their two leading scorers sitting due to injury, the Hounds outlasted Rockhurst with a 62-59 win at Nicoson Hall in last year's game. Canary led the way by notching her second double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Isabell Rhenwrick finished with 13 points while Katie Lyons added 11 points and six boards in her first collegiate start.

Last Time Out:
The UIndy women shot a blistering 85% from the floor in the second half on the way to a 93-68 victory against Southern Indiana at the Physical Activities Center last Sunday afternoon. The Greyhounds received a career-high 15 points and five assists from Katie Dewey to help hand USI its first loss at home this season.  Click here for a complete recap.

Second-Half Explosion:
UIndy's 53 second-half points in Sunday's 93-68 rout of Southern Indiana marked the fourth time this season the Hounds have cracked the 50-point barrier in the latter period. UIndy shot a ridiculous 17-for-20 (.850) from the floor in the final twenty minutes on the way to a season high .600 field percentage overall. The Greyhounds' .625 three-point field goal percentage (10-for-16) and five blocked shots also marked season highs for the squad.

14 for 16, Again:
For the second straight season, the UIndy women have started the season with a 14-2 record. The 2002-03 team also accomplished this feat, but all three squads fall one game short of the 15-1 record compiled through the first 16 games by the school's 1983-84 incarnation.

Assisted Living: Junior Katie Dewey needs just four assists to move into the UIndy all-time top ten. The Franklin Central grad leads the GLVC in helpers (77) and sits in second in assists per game (4.8). Senior Isabell Rhenwrick (211, t-17th in program history) and junior Jessica Canary (216, 14th) have also amassed more than 200 career assists.

In addition, Dewey can also be found in the program's top ten in career steals (177, 10th) and is the holder of the program's single-game steals record (nine set 2/7/08 at KWC).
