INDIANAPOLIS- University of Indianapolis men's golf head coach
Brent Nicoson announced that Max Bowling has signed his National Letter of Intent to join the UIndy golf team next year. A senior at Evansville North High School, Bowling will tee it up for the Greyhounds this fall.
A member of the National Honor Society, Bowling capped a solid junior season by leading North to a runner-up finish at last year's Indiana High School Boys State Finals, with his four-over-par 148 good for a share of ninth individually. The all-state golfer recorded a career low of 66 at the Southern Indiana Athletic Conference Tournament earlier in the season. He placed second in that tournament, as well as second at the Evansville Sectional (68).
The three-time IHSAA State Tournament qualifier has also won several junior championships, including the Indiana Section Junior PGA Championship and three Evansville Junior Golf Association Masters Series tourneys.
Bowling's future teammates kick off their championship season at the prestigious GolfWeek Spring Invitational in Orlando, Fla., Feb. 7-8. As the two-time defending Great Lakes Valley Conference champions, the Greyhounds enter the spring ranked ninth in the
Golf World/Nike Division II Coaches' Poll.
