On Tap:  The UIndy women's basketball team has a rare away/home week on deck, as the Greyhounds travel to Lewis Thursday night before coming back home to host Wisconsin-Parkside in the annual Hall of Fame game Saturday afternoon.

About Lewis:  The defending GLVC champions have had a trying 2011-12 season thus far, as the Flyers have lost 10 of their last 11 contests and have just four wins this year.

The Flyers allow a GLVC-worst 71.9 points per games.  They average 22.0 turnovers in conference play, also good for last the 16-team league.

Individually, junior Labrenthia Murdock averages 10.9 points per game as the only Flyers in double figures.

Hounds vs. Flyers:  The Greyhounds own a 31-27 advantage over Lewis all-time, but the Flyers got a big one versus UIndy last season.  Lewis downed the Greyhounds 71-68 in the conference tournament final last March, avenging a 68-60 home loss to UIndy in the regular season.  The win ended the Greyhounds' season and earned LU the GLVC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

About Wisconsin-Parkside:  The Rangers, who host Saint Joseph's Thursday night,  come into the week one game back of the Hounds in the GLVC East standings.

The team's 82-79 loss at Bellarmine last Saturday knocked then-21st-ranked Parkside out of the national rankings.   The Rangers had been ranked in every coaches' poll this season, climbing as high as No. 15 in the Nov. 29 edition.

Nevertheless, UW-Parkside is second in Division II in 3-point percentage (.393) and sixth in fewest turnovers per game (13.0).  They also lead the Great Lakes Valley Conference in scoring margin (+12. 7 ppg).

Heading into the St. Joseph's game, seniors Brittany Beyer (15.8 ppg) and Jadee Rooney (15.6 ppg) rank fourth and fifth in the league, respectively, in scoring, while fellow-senior Kaitlyn Bettiga paces the GLVC in assists (4.5 apg).

Hounds vs. Rangers:  Though the Hounds have won 20 of the 32 meetings with Wisconsin-Parkside, the Rangers have recorded victories in each of the two previous contests.

Last season, Parkside notched a convincing 66-47 win at Nicoson Hall Jan. 27.  UIndy was limited to 27-percent shooting from the floor, including a 2-for-17 output from behind the arc.

Hall of Fame:  UIndy will induct its 2012 Hall of Fame class Saturday, with the inductees being introduced at halftime of the men's game.  Following the game, a dinner and induction ceremony will be held at UIndy Hall, located in the Schwitzer Student Center, at 5:30 p.m.

The event will feature the official Hall of Fame inductions as well as brief remarks by the inductees.  Dinner tickets are $25 per person and $10 for children (12 & under).  Reservations can be made by contacting Janel Chittum in the Athletic Development office via email at chittumj@uindy.edu or by calling 317-788-8565.  Click here for more information.

Last Time Out:  UIndy had its four-game winning streak snapped with a 69-62 loss at Kentucky Wesleyan last Saturday.  The Greyhounds struggled with their free throw shooting,  going 12-for-21 (.571) from the line in just their second conference loss of the year.

Poll Position:  For the first time all season, the GLVC has zero women's teams in the USA TODAY ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll, as Wisconsin-Parkside fell out of the rankings from the No. 21 spot.

Meanwhile, UIndy -- which has received votes for six straight weeks -- came a single vote shy of breaking into the top 25 a week ago, but Saturday's loss at KWC dropped the team from a few ballots.

The Hounds last appeared in the WBCA poll as the 18th-ranked team in the Dec. 7, 2010 D-II edition.

Leader of the Pack:  The Greyhounds' 7-2 GLVC mark is good for a one-game lead in the East Division.  KWC, Northern Kentucky and UW-Parkside are all lurking at 6-3.  The West Division standings mirror that of the East, as Drury tops the lot at 7-2, with Quincy, William Jewell and Missouri S&T all one-game back.

The regular season will determine the seeding at the 2012 GLVC Tournament.  The top four teams -- regardless of division -- will earn byes in the 12-team bracket, while seeds five through eight will host first-round match-ups Feb. 26.

After a re-seeding, the quarterfinals, semifinals and final will be held at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield, Ill., Mar. 1-4.

Severe Blockage:  Just 17 games into her Greyhound career, Sydney Weinert is on the verge of breaking the school's single-season record for blocked shots.  The 6-1 forward enters the week with 57 blocks to her credit -- five shy of the program benchmark of 62, set by UIndy-great Courtney Sands in 1990-91.

Weinert leads the GLVC and ranks third in Division II by averaging 3.4 blocks per game.

Pressure Points:  Junior Kristin Turner paces the GLVC in scoring at 18.2 points per game, with that average rising to 21.4 ppg in league play.  She is looking to become just the third Greyhound woman to top the GLVC in scoring, as Debbie Law (19.2 ppg, 1982-83) and Sam Meissel (19.2 ppg, 2009-10) previously finished on top.

Turner also leads the team in assists (4.3 apg).  If she continues her pace, she'll be the first Hound to lead the team in both statistical categories since Mandy Geryak in 2005-06.

Punchin' the Clock:  Sophomore forward Chas Lecher logged a career-high 17 minutes Saturday at Kentucky Wesleyan.  The Greensburg, Ind., native came off the bench to record six points and three rebounds at both KWC and Southern Indiana last week.

No Harm, No Foul:  The Greyhounds moved up to second among Division II teams in terms of fewest personal fouls per game, drawing just 12.7 whistles per contest.  Four of the nation's top-six teams in the category hail from the GLVC, with fellow-East-Division-members Northern Kentucky (12.6) and Bellarmine (13.2) ranking first and third, respectively.

Hounds on TV:  Produced by HomeTown Television, the following games will be televised via tape-delay and air on WRTV 6.2 HTSN: Jan. 16 vs. St. Joseph's, Feb. 2 vs. Kentucky Wesleyan and Feb. 4 vs. Southern Indiana.

Those games are also streamed live on hometownsportsindiana.com and the remainder of UIndy's home games will be available free on the Hounds' Ustream channel at ustream.tv/channel/Indianapolis-Greyhounds.

Hounds on Radio:  The Greyhounds are broadcast live on WICR 88.7 FM.  You can also catch the Greyhounds on the Internet via live streaming.  Get details at wicr.uindy.edu/audio.
