Hounds climb to 18th in AFCA poll

WACO, Texas – Fresh off qualifying for its first-ever NCAA Division II postseason, the UIndy football team (9-2) climbed one spot to No. 18 in the American Football Coaches Association Division II Top 25 Poll Monday.  Just three of last week's ranked squad lost over the weekend, with only Grand Valley State dropping out of the rankings.

UIndy orchestrated a 31-24 comeback win at Urbana Saturday.  The Greyhounds scored 15 points in the final nine minutes to secure their first-ever nine-win season, as well as the first-ever Great Lakes Valley Conference football championship.

Like UIndy, two of the nation's top-four teams reside in Super Region Four.  Colorado State-Pueblo (11-0) finished the regular season at No. 1 for the second straight year, while Ashland moved up one spot to No. 4.

The Greyhounds' first-round playoff match-up with No. 8 Midwestern State this Saturday is one of six NCAA first-round games to feature top-25 matchups.  Kickoff from Key Stadium is scheduled for noon Eastern, with the winner facing top-ranked CSUP Nov. 24.
