INDIANAPOLIS –Senior Mar'quone Edmonds amassed 10 catches, 169 yards and two touchdowns, including his 27th career TD reception to set a new school record during UIndy's 45-15 win versus McKendree Saturday night.  The Greyhounds (2-2, 2-0 GLVC) put up 31 points in the second half to deny the visiting Bearcats (0-4, 0-2) their first win of the season.

Edmonds' first touchdown catch of the night snapped one of the longest-held school records in any of UIndy's 21 varsity sports.  The previous mark was set by UIndy Hall-of-Famer Dick Nyers back in 1955.  Edmonds now has eight 100-yard receiving games as a Greyhound, including one in each of the last two weeks.

Not to be outdone, junior running back Klay Fiechter set a personal best with 138 yards on the ground.  He averaged 6.0 yards per carry on the night, thanks in part to a jaw-dropping 60-yard jaunt that saw the workhorse break seven tackles.

Senior linebacker Tyler Peterman also set a career high with 14 total tackles.

With the game tied 7-7 late in the second quarter, UIndy sandwiched halftime with a pair of touchdowns to take control of the game.  The Hounds went on to outscore “McK” 38-7 over the game's final 31 minutes, scoring on six of their final seven possessions.

Punts and turnovers dominated the early going, as both offenses struggled to get going.  After coming off a zero-turnover game at Quincy last week, the Hounds reverted with giveaways on two of their first three possessions.

But with the first quarter nearly in the books, UIndy orchestrated the game's first sustained drive, breaking the scoring drought with a 15-yard scamper from Fietcher.  The play capped a 64-yard march that put the Hounds up seven-zip.

McKendree answered with a TD to start the second quarter; after 12 straight rushes, senior QB David Bergschneider found Joe Santiago with a 21-yard touchdown pass.

After tying it at seven apiece midway through the second, however, McK would not score for nearly 34 minutes, as the Greyhound defense solved the Bearcats' rush-heavy attack.  McKendree rushed the ball 46 times on the night despite trailing the entire second half.

Though Fiechter and Edmonds accounted for four touchdowns, three other Greyhounds got in the scoring column – all in the fourth quarter.  Sophomore Matt Ripp broke off a career-long 47-yard touchdown run, Will Brucker scored from 14 yards out for his first collegiate TD and Scott Miller chipped in a 22-yard field goal.

The Greyhounds head to Rolla, Mo., for a showdown with Missouri S&T Saturday, Sept. 29.  Both teams are 2-0 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.  Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. Eastern.
