INDIANAPOLIS – In its quest for a third postseason appearance in four years, the UIndy football team moved up one spot to No. 6 in the NCAA Division II Super Region Four rankings, released Monday. The top-seven teams from each region will earn playoff berths when the field is announced Nov. 15.
Â
Winners of eighth in a row, the GLVC-champion Greyhounds leapfrogged Colorado-Mesa, who endured a 51-20 loss to Colorado State-Pueblo last weekend to fall out of the playoff picture. Like UIndy, CSUP also moved up one slot this week to No. 5, while Ashland jumped two spots to No. 2. Ferris State remained atop the rankings, while Texas-Commerce and Midwestern State – who play each other this week – came in at three and four, respectively.
Â
The annual postseason tournament will begin on campus sites Saturday, Nov. 21. The opening round will feature seeds two, three and four hosting the seven, six and five seeds, respectively. The top-seeded team in each region will receive a first-round bye. The bracket plays out on consecutive Saturdays until the national champion is crowned in Kansas City, Mo., Dec. 19.

The Hounds made back-to-back trips to the postseason in 2012 and '13 before narrowly missing a playoff berth last year.
