Football holds steady at #6 in DII coaches poll

WACO, Texas – With each of the top-five teams victorious over the weekend, the UIndy football team (8-0, 5-0 GLVC) remained at No. 6 in this week's AFCA Division II Coaches Poll. The unbeaten Greyhounds are coming off their second straight shutout win with a 45-0 victory at Lincoln Saturday.

A total of five ranked teams lost last week, most notably No. 7 Grand Valley State. The Lakers led by eight points in the fourth quarter at then-12th-ranked Ferris State but ultimately came up on the short end of a 28-27 final. Meanwhile, fellow-Super-Region-3-team Southeastern Oklahoma State fell out of the top 25 after enduring its second straight loss.

The Greyhounds, who attained a program high when they were ranked No. 5 two weeks ago, have held a spot in the top 10 for each of the last five weeks. They head to William Jewell College this weekend for a meeting with the Cardinals Saturday, Oct. 28.
