HOUND BYTES
Coach Bob Bartolomeo on beating the defending conference champs:
"It's a payback game. They got after us last year down at their place and we were looking forward to this one. We had this game circled for a long time. Big win for our football program."
Â
On how to maintain focus after a few big wins:
"We're a one-at-a-time team. We're going to handle the practices and the games just one at a time."
Â
MORE NOTES
The win came one day after Coach Bart was inducting into the Butler Athletics Hall of Fame … Bruning's pick-six was the longest for the Hounds since Koby Orris took one back 68 yards to the house versus McKendree in 2013 … Prior to tonight's lopsided final, the previous two match-ups between UIndy and Southwest Baptist was decided by four points or less … SBU finished 10-2 last season and 7-1 in conference play, sharing the 2016 GLVC title with Truman and going on to earn its first-ever NCAA DII playoff berth.
