Carlos Brown is currently in his third year as the hurdle event coach for the University of Indianapolis. The veteran coach is an active member of the Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches (IATCCC), and holds the following coaching certifications: USATF Level 1 (combined events), USATF Level 2 (jumps) and USATF Level 3 (sprints, speed summit).
Brown began his coaching career in 1983 with The Wilma Rudolph Foundation here in Indianapolis, serving five years as the its hurdle coach. During that time, he mentored several high school city and state champions as well as national finalists.
In the years following, he has coached at several Central Indiana high schools, middle schools and elementary schools, where he's continued to offer his hurdling expertise.
