Box ScoreROLLA, Mo.- UIndy found its way back into the win column Sunday afternoon, taking a 4-1 decision at Missouri-Rolla. The win lifts the Hounds to the .500 mark on the season, at 8-8-0. UIndy is now 6-5 in GLVC play. The Miners drop to 4-10-1 on the year, 1-8-1 in the GLVC.
Caryn Nieman put the Hounds on the scoreboard first in the fifth minute of play. Nieman's sixth goal of the season came off of a rebound, and was assisted by
Ashley Seehase and
Alli Opfer.
Missouri-Rolla scored its lone goal of the contest just after the 14-minute mark. Janine Enhelling scored on a ball from Marci Byrd, putting it in off the crossbar from about 18 yards out.
UIndy struck again in the 22nd minute on a score from
Jamie Huebner. Seehase sent a ball to the far post, where Huebner tapped it in for the goal, her fourth of the year.
Seehase (pictured) scored her first goal of the game just more than five minutes later. Her 11th score of the year was assisted by
Amanda Reese, and came off of a breakaway.
The Hounds scored their final goal of the game in the 88th minute. Seehase netted the goal on a ball from Jenny Dimitroff on a breakaway.
UIndy took 21 shots in the game, while the Miners took 13. Missouri-Rolla held the edge in corner kick opportunites, though, 5-3.
Andrea Swihart and
Lori Ludwig split time in goal for the Greyhounds. Swihart allowed the lone Miner goal while making three saves. Ludwig recorded two saves in her netminding debut.
The Hounds return home to Key Stadium for the final time this weekend, hosting Quincy Friday and SIU-Edwardsville Sunday. The two GLVC matches will be the final regular season contests for UIndy.
