Katz tallies five points in Greyhounds loss at Tiffin

TIFFIN, Ohio - After leading 2-1 early, the No. 8 UIndy women's lacrosse team (6-3, 2-2 GLIAC) surrendered seven-straight goals and couldn't recover before dropping a 15-9 decision to GLIAC-rival Tiffin. Destinie Katz had a career-high two goals and three assists in the loss, while Cara Brown and Lauryn Hardoy also recorded two scores.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Abigail Lagos and Brown scored consecutive Greyhound goals after falling behind 1-0, but the Dragons knotted the game at two apiece three minutes later. Tiffin then rattled off four more goals to end the half without allowing UIndy to find the back of the cage.

The Greyhounds ended their 32:03 scoreless drought with over seven minutes gone in the second half when Anna Rulapaugh found Hannah Burczyk for a score, then Hardoy scored 46 seconds later to cut the deficit in half. A Dragons' goal with under five minutes remaining made the score 15-8, which held until under a minute when Delaney Davidson scored her lone goal of the day, also marking the final tally of the game.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
After red-shirting last season as a Hound, Destinie Katz now has four goals and nine helpers in her 2018 campaign. Her two scores today marked the first multi-goal game of the season and the second she has reached three assists.

Davidson's last-minute goal continued the sophomore's goal streak to begin season. It is just the first time in 2018 that Davidson has tallied one point, and the second time the British Columbia native has scored just one goal.

Goalkeeper Lauren Granville recorded a team-high three ground balls, adding to the eight saves she made in the crease. It is the junior's most saves since the season opener against Lindenwood, and a season-best total for ground balls.

UP NEXT
The Greyhounds travel to Lebanon, Ill. for a mid-week GLIAC battle with McKendree on Wednesday afternoon. The contest is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
