CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – For the second day in a row, the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) released major Division II award winners, and for the second day in a row, three Greyhounds earned recognition. One day after picking up all-region accolades,
Pilar Echeverria (first team),
Cailyn Henderson (second team) and
Anna Kramer (honorable mention) were three of just 40 student-athletes honored as 2020 Division II WGCA All-Americans.
Â
Echeverria continues to make history, becoming the first-ever student-athlete in program history to garner four All-America First Team nods. In fact, she is now one of just five individuals to garner four consecutive DII All-America First Team accolades in the history of the WGCA.
Â
On the season, Echeverria placed first or second in five of six tournaments. She broke her own school record with a 71.6 season scoring average, dropping her UIndy-record career average to 72.96. She is a candidate for 2020 Division II PING WGCA Player of the Year, which will be announced later this week.
Â
Henderson and Kramer each picked up their first career national honor from Division II's coaches. A native of nearby Carmel, Ind., Henderson ranked second on the team with 74.3 average. She won or shared the individual medal at two of six events in 2019-20, including the 72-woman Music City Invitational in which she fired a nine-under 135 to match the program record for lowest 36-hole score.
Â
Kramer compiled a career-low 75.1 average. The Spring Lake, Mich., product finished in the top six on three occasions, once while carding a collegiate-low 68 at the aforementioned Music City Invite.
Â
UIndy was one of only four schools with at least three honorees, with only Dallas Baptist and its five All-Americans exceeding the Greyhounds' total.
