INDIANAPOLIS— UIndy held Hillsdale to 35% shooting, the team's best mark under Heady, and the lowest field goal percentage by an opponent since November 30, 2023, when UIndy held Southwest Baptist to 33.3% from the field.
Noah Kon, Carmelo Harris and Nate Dudukovich all recorded a game-high 14 points for UIndy. Harris also contributed a game-high five assists as well as a team-high seven rebounds for the Hounds.
The Chargers opened up the scoring a little under two minutes into the game, sparked by a Tommy Morgan steal transitioning into a Garrett Bolte 18-footer off a Cole McWhinnie dish. Hillsdale was ahead 15-10 halfway through the first half, until the UIndy went on a 16-0 run to take control of the game. The Greyhound defense held the Chargers scoreless for a seven-minute stint in the second half, only allowing six points in the final 10 minutes of the opening half.Â
UIndy carried its momentum early into the second half, answering every Charger field goal with two of its own to secure the already established lead. Kon gave the Hounds a spark on both sides of the court with a steal and score, followed by another steal on the next trip down the floor, which resulted in another UIndy bucket from Tyler Parrish. Shaun Arnold continued the Greyhounds' defensive hot streak with a powerful block in the paint before giving his squad their largest lead of the night, hitting two from the charity stripe to secure an 18-point lead with 8:12 left in the contest. The Chargers used a 14-4 run to bring them back within eight, but the Hounds found nine consecutive points to keep control of the game and hold on to their lead.Â
