INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 3 UIndy women's lacrosse team returned to action on Sunday for the first time in 16 days, dominating the visiting D'Youville Saints from the opening whistle with a 26-4 victory at Key Stadium. The 22-goal differential matches the highest mark under third-year head coach
Peyton Romig, as does the team's final tally of 26 – achieved once each season since the alum's hiring prior to the 2024 season.

Alexa Versaci led all players with nine points, dishing out six helpers to add to her hat trick. Six Greyhounds finished with at least three goals in the win, with the senior-freshman duo of
Sage Da Silva and
Reese Fahlke scoring four times. Rookie netminder
Sam Martin earned her third win of the season, making four saves in nearly 29 minutes of action.

INS & OUTS
A whopping 10 Hounds found the back of the cage on Sunday, including freshman
Sophia Griswold-Beltz. Da Silva capped the scoring with under three minutes left in the contest to join Fahlke atop the leaderboard. UIndy scored at least five goals each quarter, including nine in the opening frame;
Olivia Bladon netted her first of the day just 32 seconds in, while
Maggie Durkin had a hand in the final two goals of the period, finding Da Silva with 67 seconds left after scoring two minutes prior.

Time of possession was key on Sunday, as D'Youville coughed it up 20 times compared to UIndy's nine. The Hounds were credited with 12 caused turnovers, with Jenna Hirvnonen leading the way with three. The visiting Saints went a paltry 3-for-13 on clear attempts, while the Greyhounds succeeded on all 11 of their chances.

The UIndy defense took advantage of opportunities all game long, suffocating the D'Youville attack in impressive fashion. Junior
Amanda Hurry chipped in a pair of caused turnovers and ground balls, while
Mariah Whitfield tallied two scoops herself.

The Greyhounds edged the Saints in the circle, 15-14, with
Malaena Michielin winning a team-best five draw controls.
Ella Fornek, who was the primary draw-taker in the fourth quarter, recorded three, adding to her two-point performance. The senior also picked up two ground balls in the win.
