KANSAS CITY, MO. - In a battle between two of the top four teams in the GLVC, the Rockhurst Hawks defeated the University of Indianapolis in a four-game match (30-32, 30-26, 30-12, 30-24). With a loss to the Hounds in last year’s conference tournament fresh in their minds, the Hawks managed to overcome a game-one loss to earn a victory.
After being down 29-27 in the first game, the Greyhounds rallied to win 32-30 and looked poised to once again defeat Rockhurst on its home court. It was all Hawks from then on, however, as they took the final three games for the win.
Indianapolis (17-6, 7-3 GLVC) continues conference play as it travels to Springfield, Mo. and Weiser Gym to face the Drury Panthers. The Greyhounds return home on Oct. 13 for a doubleheader versus Oakland City and Kentucky Wesleyan.
