Box score

EDWARDSVILLE, Ind.- Host SIU Edwardsville will look to repeat as Great Lakes Valley Conference champions after a 3-1 win over visiting University of Indianapolis, 3-1 (30-21, 22-30, 30-21, 30-23) in the league's postseason tournament on Friday.  The battle featured a rematch of last season's league championship match.  The Cougars will advance to play Lewis University, who won Friday's other GLVC semifinal match on Friday.

Lynne Ross, in what was most likely her final match, led the Greyhounds with 15 kills and added four block assists.  Kyleigh Turner led the UIndy defensive effort, contributing 19 digs while Beth Robbins registered 12 digs and a team-high 23 assists.

SIUE (27-4) won its ninth straight match, and 34th consecutive against conference foes, in the win.

The Greyhounds finish a fabulous year which saw them record their eighth straight 20-win season, finishing with a 24-10 mark, matching last season's win total in four less matches.  The winner of the GLVC tournament receives an automatic berth in the NCAA Division II tournament, set to start next week.  The regional tournament, made up of eight teams, is comprised of the top teams in the regional rankings.  The Greyhounds do not appear among the ten teams in the tough Great Lakes region, despite a solid 24-10 record this season.
