ROLLA, Mo. – The University of Indianapolis allowed 51.8% shooting from the field Saturday as the Missouri-Rolla Miners defeated the Greyhounds 85-71.
DeAndre Brock led the Hounds in scoring for the second time in three games with 23 points.
After a
Tyke Cockerham layup tied the score at two apiece, the UIndy offense stalled, scoring just six points in the game’s first eight minutes. The drought was too much to recover from, as the home team scored 21 points in that span, pushing the lead to 15 points, one less than the final deficit.
A
Braxton Mills jumper, the first bucket of the second half, cut the lead to single-digits as the Hounds looked to get back in the game. The Miners thwarted the notion, using a 7-0 run and later a 15-5 run to build a 22-point lead with twelve minutes remaining.
Brock scored 18 of his game-high 23 points in the second half. Tristin Rogers (pictured) added 13 points coming off the bench.
Justin Barnard paced the Hounds with six rebounds.
UIndy (1-2, 0-1 GLVC) will remain in the Show Me State to face Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday, Dec. 3.
