MEMPHIS, Tenn.- The Greyhound volleyball team finished the Christian Brothers Fall Classic without losing a single game, winning a pair of matches on Saturday to win all four contests this weekend. UIndy dominated Southern Arkansas in the opener (30-19, 30-24, 30-24) and then dispatched West Alabama in the afternoon (30-14, 30-17, 34-32).
In the first match, Karla Mast and Alyssa Carlotta each tallied 11 kills and Lynne Ross and Casey Chrzastowski each had nine finishes to lead the Hounds' offense. Ross and Kyleigh Turner had 14 digs apiece. The Greyhounds outhit the Lady Muleriders by nearly .200, using a .465 hit percentage in the second game to propel to victory.
The second match of the day saw the Hounds leap out to an early lead, winning the first two games against West Alabama with relative ease (30-14, 30-17) before a 34-32 third game. UIndy hammered home 50 kills opposed to just seven errors to pile-up a whopping .417 hitting percentage for the match.
Three Greyhounds were in double digits for kills, paced by 13 from Carlotta. Elizabeth Schuyler added 12 and Ross chipped-in 10 for the Hounds.
Indianapolis (4-0) heads to Indiana Wesleyan on Wednesday before battling defending national champion Grand Valley State in the opening match of the Ashland tournament next weekend.
