LOUISVILLE, Ky. – For the second time this month, the University of Indianapolis defeated Bellarmine (30-22, 27-30, 30-26, 30-27) on Saturday to complete the season sweep. Senior captain Lynne Ross capped a monster weekend with 14 kills and eight blocks, both team-highs.
After equaling a career high with 10 blocks in a win over Northern Kentucky on Friday night, Ross added eight more on Saturday, bringing her season total to 72, second in the GLVC. Perhaps more impressive is her hitting percentage. Ross killed 14 balls on 26 attempts with just one error, good for a .500 hitting percentage on the match. She leads the conference with a .371 mark.
Ross was not alone on Saturday afternoon with contributions coming from up and down the Greyhound roster.
Casey Chrzastowski and
Alyssa Carlotta each added 11 kills on the day.
Kyleigh Turner and Cassie Schott both recorded season-highs in digs with 24 and 19, respectively. Freshman
Brandi McAllister registered her third double-double, tallying 29 assists and 10 digs.
UIndy (14-4, 6-1 GLVC) takes a break from conference play as it travels to Fort Wayne on Tuesday to face St. Francis. The Hounds then return home on Friday for Spirit Night as they host Wisconsin-Parkside.
