Volleyballers down Bellarmine in home opener

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Indianapolis began both its home and conference schedules with a victory versus Bellarmine (28-30, 30-25, 30-24, 30-21) at the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center Friday night.  The win marked the 12th time in the last 13 matches that the Hounds have defeated the Knights.  After dropping the first game, the Greyhounds rattled off wins in the next three games to take the match.  UIndy finished in impressive fashion by hitting for a .459 clip in the decisive game, which included only one attack error.

Junior Casey Chrzastowski’s attack was deadly.  She killed a team season-high 21 balls and hit an efficient .444 in the four-game match.  Sophomores Karla Mast and Alyssa Carlotta added 15 and 13 kills, respectively.  Beth Robbins and Brandi McAllister once again shared the setting duties, combining for 48 assists.

Indianapolis (8-3, 1-0 GLVC) continues play at home Saturday afternoon with a conference match versus Northern Kentucky.  The Hounds have split the last eight matches against the Norse.  The contest is scheduled to start at 3 pm.
