Volleyball remains perfect in conference play

INDIANAPOLIS - With just three conference matches remaining, the 17th-ranked University of Indianapolis volleyball team won its sixteenth Great Lakes Valley Conference match Friday night by defeating Wisconsin-Parkside 30-18, 30-20, 30-24, at the Ruth Lilly Center.  Owners of a program record 25-match win streak, UIndy (28-1, 16-0 GLVC) used an efficient .327 team hitting percentage to dispatch of the Rangers in the minimum three games.
 
The Greyhounds' potent offensive featured five players with at least 16 attack attempts and three with at least 20.  Senior middle Elizabeth Shuyler used 20 attempts to garner a .450 attack percentage and a team-high 12 kills.  The match marked the 10th time this season the Selah, Wash. native has hit at least .400.
 
Junior setter Beth Robbins notched her fifth double-double this year with 47 assists and 11 digs while sophomore Jessica Breeden hit .312 and added eight kills and four block assists.
 
UIndy faces a tough intra-division rival in Lewis University on Saturday afternoon.  The Flyers sit in second place in the East with a 13-2 GLVC mark.  Start time from the Ruth Lilly Center is scheduled for 3 pm.
 
 
Notes:  The Greyhounds’ haste Friday night earned them their 20th sweep victory this season, the most since 1981…Indianapolis is 11-0 at Ruth Lilly this season.
