INDIANAPOLIS - The 17th-ranked University of Indianapolis volleyball team tasted defeat on Saturday afternoon for the first time since August 25.  After running off 25-straight wins, the Hounds (28-2, 16-1 GLVC) fell to Lewis University at the Ruth Lilly Center, 30-22, 30-27, 30-22.

Lewis (24-3, 14-2 GLVC) compiled a .333 team hitting percentage, the most efficient attack by a UIndy opponent since Southern Illinois Edwardsville hit .383 back on 10/23/04.  The Flyers were also solid defensively, surpassing the Hounds in both digs and blocks.

However, even after Saturday's head-to-head loss to the Flyers, Indianapolis still owns a match-and-a-half lead over Lewis in the GLVC East Division standings.

Senior Casey Chrzastowski garnered team-highs in kills (10) and attack attempts (33).  Junior setter Beth Robbins tallied 38 assists and seven digs while sophomore libero Kyleigh Turner added 13 digs.

With just two conference matches remaining, UIndy looks to rebound from the loss and create some momentum heading into the GLVC tournament.  The Hounds travel to Rensselaer, Ind. to face St. Joseph's on Oct. 30 before wrapping up the regular season at home versus Kentucky Wesleyan on Nov. 2.  Start time from SJC on Tuesday is slated for 8 pm.

Note:  It had been nearly five years to the day that an opponent delivered UIndy a three-game loss at home.  Lewis can stake claim to the two most recent sweep wins at Ruth Lilly, as it also downed the Greyhounds in three games on 10/26/02.
