INDIANAPOLIS - Fresh off climbing to No. 18 in the new CSTV/AVCA Division II Coaches Poll released yesterday, the University of Indianapolis volleyball squad picked up yet another sweep win Tuesday night at the Ruth Lilly Center, this time over Indiana-Southeast, 30-18, 30-17, 30-16. The win marked the 16th sweep for the Hounds this season, eight coming with UIndy holding its opponent to 20 points or less in all three games.
UIndy dominated the visiting Grenadiers throughout as IUS (11-15, 3-0 KIAC) managed just two brief leads in the entire match: a 9-8 advantage in game one and a 2-1 edge in game two. The Greyhounds out-hit their opponents .321 to .039, a disparity aided by a .538 team hitting percentage from the Hounds in the final game.
Freshman
Cheneta Morrison garnered team highs in kills (11) and attack attempts (24). Morrison was the only Greyhound to reach double-digits in finishes as setter
Beth Robbins spread the wealth. The junior assisted on 49 of 52 team kills, with ten Hounds collecting between two and eleven kills.
UIndy (21-1, 11-0 GLVC) returns to conference play as they host a pair of formidable GLVC West opponents, starting with Rockhurst on Friday. Start time from Ruth Lilly is scheduled for 7 pm.
