INDIANAPOLIS - The 20th-ranked University of Indianapolis volleyball team wrapped up a stellar 2007 regular season at the Ruth Lilly Center Friday night with a 30-19, 30-18, 30-17 sweep over visiting Kentucky Wesleyan.  The win gives the Greyhounds their 30th this year, setting a program record for victories in a season.

UIndy (30-2, 18-1 GLVC) had little trouble with the Panthers.  After a slow start that saw the visitors build a 10-5 edge in the opening game, the Greyhounds scored seven straight to take the lead.  They continued the rally by finishing game one on a 25-9 run to go up 1-0.

The Hounds remained in control throughout the final two games, evident by an 8-1 UIndy lead in game two and a 10-1 start in game three.  Friday's final tally marked a school-record 22 sweep wins for UIndy, including 10 occasions in which its opponents were held to 20 points or less in each game.

Senior Casey Chrzastowski (pictured, left) led the Hounds with 12 kills and 23 attack attempts while fellow senior Elizabeth Shuyler (pictured, right) added three kills and three block assists.  Junior Beth Robbins needed just two games to compile 28 assists and four block assists while sophomore Kyleigh Turner scooped a match-high 17 digs.

Thanks to a win over West Division-champ SIU Edwardsville earlier this year, UIndy will host next week’s GLVC tournament.  The conference’s top eight teams will gravitate to the Ruth Lilly Center on Friday for first round action.  Four quarterfinal matches will be held on Friday, with the semis on Saturday and the finals on Sunday afternoon.  Depending on this weekend's results, the Hounds will take on either Drury or Southern Indiana at 7:30 pm on Friday, Nov 9.

Notes:  Casey Chrzastowski went over 400 kills for the season, marking just the eighth 400-kill season in school history…Beth Robbins also reached a milestone by surpassing 1,400 assists this year.  Her total of 1,422 ranks fourth in the school annals…Kyleigh Turner needs seven digs to break the school record for most digs in a season...KWC (6-24, 0-18 GLVC) has lost 96 straight GLVC matches.  Its last conference win came at the expense of Bellarmine back on 10/31/01.
