Brock drops in 31 in exhibition loss to Wright State

WSU tallies 20-3 first-half run; never looks back


DAYTON, Ohio-  Senior DeAndre Brock hit six triples en route to 31 points as the Greyhounds dropped a 66-54 decision to host Wright State in exhibition play at the Nutter Center on Monday night.  Brock connected on 9-of-15 shots from the floor, including 6-of-10 from long range.

UIndy stayed with the defending Horizon League champs for the first five-and-half minutes when the Raiders compiled 20 of the next 23 points to jump out to a 31-13 advantage.  WSU would take a 40-25 lead into halftime.

In the second frame, the Raiders led by as many as 22 before the Hounds pieced together eight straight points to slice the margin to 14.  Brock got the run going with a jumper followed by three-pointers from Justin Barnard and Tyler Kitchel.   But, the Hounds could draw no closer and the Raiders took the victory.

The margin was just a dozen despite UIndy shooting just 37 percent from the floor (15-of-61).  The Greyhounds out-rebounded the Raiders, 33-30, with a team-high seven coming from Donald CloutierKeith Radcliff had four assists for UIndy.

WSU had three players in double figures, led by Todd Brown's 16.

The Greyhounds open their regular season schedule on Nov. 15 when they host Brescia University at Nicoson Hall.  Tip time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
