Box score

INDIANAPOLIS-  Senior Justin Barnard tied a career-high with six three-pointers en route to 26 points as the UIndy men's basketball team improved to 6-0 with an 84-53 routing of Missouri-Rolla at Nicoson Hall Saturday.  Barnard did his damage in just 22 minutes of work as all 12 Greyhounds scored in the contest.

It was all UIndy throughout with the Hounds racing out to a 22-5 advantage from the get-go.  The Miners efforted to get the lead down to single digits, getting to within seven at 30-23.  But, the Hounds closed the half with seven of the final nine points and opened the second stanza with a 24-5 surge to effectively put the game away.

Barnard produced a superb all-around game, also garnering team-highs with eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks.  The senior netted 13 points in each half as UIndy dominated the start of each frame.   His points came as a result of a mismatch with UMR center Taurance Townsel, who could not keep up with the 6-foot-6 Barnard on the perimeter.

DeAndre Brock put up 16 points while Braxton Mills chipped-in with eight rebounds in the winning effort.

The Greyhounds earned the weekend sweep with the win, moving to 2-0 in conference play and 6-0 overall.  UIndy will play just two games over the next four weeks, a tournament at Queen's University in Charlotte, N.C.  The opener pits the Hounds against Lander University on Dec. 15 with the following night being either West Virginia State or host Queen's.

Notes:  Barnard's first triple put him over 100 for his career, landing him 11th in the school's all-time record book for threes made ... UIndy has outscored Missouri-Rolla, 158-93, in the two meetings between the teams at Nicoson Hall ... Every UIndy player scored and 11 of the 12 grabbed a rebound ... Ten different Hounds notched at least one assist.
