Baseball splits at Drury

Game 1: Drury 7, UIndy 2
Game 2: UIndy 4, Drury 0

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-  Junior Scott Zielaskiewicz fired a complete-game, four-hit shutout to help the Greyhounds earn a doubleheader split in Great Lakes Valley Conference action on Saturday.  After dropping a 7-2 decision in the opener, UIndy rallied for a 4-0 win in game two to improve to 4-3 in league play.

UIndy (6-10, 4-3) took an early 2-0 lead in the first game with single runs in each of the first two innings.  Jason Beck hit a run-scoring double and Justin Russell scored an unearned run in the second to give UIndy the early advantage.  Drury (9-9, 5-2) tied the score in the bottom of the fifth and unloaded for five runs in the sixth, gaining the opening win.  Beck had two of UIndy's four hits in game one.

In game two, Zielaskiewicz faced just 30 batters in registering the nine-inning shutout win.  He struck out three and did not squander a walk, scattering four hits to earn his second win of the season.  The Greyhounds combined for a dozen hits in game two, led by a 3-for-3 effort by Jake Tranchant (pictured).  Kyle Stephenson, Dalan Dugger and Tom Bingham each added a pair of hits.

The Greyhounds and Panthers square off again on Sunday for a single game.  First pitch is scheduled to be thrown at 1:00 p.m. EST.
