SALISBURY, N.C.- Sophomore Amanda Wendlinger allowed just three hits and struck out eight in earning the shutout win, 4-0, over West Virginia State on Sunday morning. The win gave Wendlinger her first win of the season and helped UIndy to its third win of the weekend.
The Greyhound offense was led by sophomore thrid baseman Lauren Booten, who was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate on Sunday. Booten was a key contributor for an offense that compiled 32 hits and 26 runs on the weekend.
UIndy (3-2) will now prepare for its annual trip to Florida to compete in the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla. over Spring Break. The Hounds are scheduled to play 10 games over six days.
