Indianapolis 3, Chadron State 0South Dakota 3, Indianapolis 1LAKEWOOD, Colo. – After picking up two sweep victories on Friday, the University of Indianapolis split a pair of matches Saturday at the Mile High Classic, a two-day invitation hosted by Colorado Christian University. The Hounds opened the day with a sweep over Chadron State (30-20, 30-14, 30-19) before dropping their first match of the season against South Dakota (30-26, 29-31, 28-30, 18-30).
UIndy (3-1, 0-0 GLVC) handled a Chadron State club by a three-game combined score of 90-53. Freshman
Lyndsay Callahan paced the Hounds with 12 kills while senior
Casey Chrzastowski added 10 as both hitters exceded more than .400 in attack percentage. Junior
Beth Robbins tallied match highs in both assists (37) and aces (4).
In the nightcap, South Dakota (4-0) finished the invite with a spotless record, topping the Greyhounds by a 3-1 count. UIndy seniors
Elizabeth Shuyler and Chrzastowski compiled 15 and 17 kills, respectively, while
Kyleigh Turner registered a match-high 17 digs.
Following the invite, the Mile High Classic All-Tournament Team was annouced and two Greyhounds could be found on the list. Robbins and Turner were both honored for their respective performances over the weekend. Robbins notched 163 assists and six service aces in the four-match event while Turner tallied 85 digs and five aces.
UIndy next travels to St. Joseph, Mo. for the Ramada Inn Invitational. The Hounds are scheduled to play four matches, beginning with Emporia State on Aug. 31.
